Ignite, Pomodoro and getting things done efficiently - Article for the day 19 Sept

Came across a video today that linked to a lot of ideas. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cH-z5kmVhzU

Ignite - A way of making presentations that are only 5 minutes long and the slides auto advance every 15 seconds. I loved the tag line: Enlighten us, but make it quick. I once had to make one of these presentations and it is incredibly hard. You have to figure out what is really really important and how to say it such that your audience is still engaged. It makes you have to throw out all the inessentials and focus on the main idea. I am sure we have all been to meetings at work that you wish this could have been the case :)

The Pomodoro technique seems brilliant. As I was watching the video, my phone buzzed and I paused the video to answer it. We are distracted and distracted all the time. This looks like something I would like to work into my daily routine. Lets see how it goes.

An idea can change a million lives - Article for the day 6 August

Idea Cellular came up with a slogan that "An idea can change your life". Economics says, innovation is the only way to sustainable improvement in the development of the country. This is definitely one of the most impressive ideas I have seen so far. A real problem being tackled by a tiny change in behaviour.

What defines leaders? Article for the day 9 July

After yesterday's post on Modi, it was only apt that I came across this video titled - Egypt: The next president. If this is a real video I am floored by the intelligence of the chap. How many of us can profess to know this much about our own countries? Much better than this dismal performance by the "Crown Prince"

Do we really need bottled water? - Article for the day 6 July

While this seems to be more centric to the United States, it does make a good case of not giving into scare tactics. Marketing can be informative, but people can misuse its power.

A quick search on "Bottled water Vs  Tap water" on YouTube shows that there are a lot of studies and documentaries about this. What do you think?

How do you leave the place a little better than you found it - Article for the day 5 July

Came across this talk by Elon Musk. I must say that I have seen a lot of TED talks but this one felt very different. Take your fortune and betting it on something you believe in, irrespective of what other people tell you the risks are. In other words - he lives up to putting your money where your mouth is.

Beauty is only skin deep

Most people (especially the fairer sex) are very beauty conscious. There have been a lot of studies on people aspiring for model like features. This shows you that model like figures are just that. "Models". Not real.

George Galloway Vs. Sky News - SKY NEWS KO'D!!!

The media has always been a means of generating and moulding public opinion. "Who will gaurd the guards? " is an often asked question. Biased reporting has been a problem for a long time. Sky news had this one coming and boy, oh boy, GG really knocked out this pathetic reporter
