Ok. If u weren’t watching the match live like I just did, u will probably see it some time soon. I predict that this is going to be played over and over and over again on international telivision.
Zidane, who has long since announced that he wont play football after the world cup, just executed a amazing stroke. He is going to have people talking about this for weeks to come. It will get him more publicity than what he has had over his whole career. And if he refuses to come clean about it soon after the match, his autobiography will be a bestseller.
Looks like I’m doing just what he expects everyone to do. Howl over it and gain him even more publicity.

I see this rare footage of Zidane walking down the steps of the locker room, taken from a hindview camera that was off the field.
It clearly looked like he was wiping his face with his hands, possibly using his T-shirt.
Looking at that frame, I feel he regrets it and I am pretty sure it was a fit of unplanned revulsion rather than a deliberated campaign strategy for post-retirement press :)
There are more than a 500 cameras always on at the world cup final. it would have been easy to play along for their benifit.
After what has come to light, I disagree that Zizou did all that just for publicity..
A player of who enjoys a fan following like he does, doesn't need to resort to such cheap stunts to gain publicity for the rest of his lifetime...
