Your lifestyle has been designed - Article for the day 12th August

When most of us are told that someone else is in control of our lives our immediate reaction is denial. We have our freedom and cherish it the most. However, this article points out that this might not be true and we might be living a Matrix like world where choice is an illusion. The comments at the end of the article are also interesting if you have the time.

Incremental innovation Vs disruptive innovation is one of those management concepts about is something a "New and Improved" version of an existing item or is something that totally changes the way we think about it respectively.

Stock markets - Day trading and the long haul - Article for the day 7 August

Warren Buffet stated that in the short run the stock market is a Voting machine and the in the long run it is a weighing machine. You can build long term wealth not on insider tips but by just staying invested over the long run. Returns on equity have outpaced inflation easily over the years.

However, given that brokers make money on us trading more every "advisor" that we have wants us to trade more. Every business news channel gets paid through advertising revenue. So they offer "tips" that are meant for you to trade more. This is the wrong approach to investing as pointed out by Value Research.

An idea can change a million lives - Article for the day 6 August

Idea Cellular came up with a slogan that "An idea can change your life". Economics says, innovation is the only way to sustainable improvement in the development of the country. This is definitely one of the most impressive ideas I have seen so far. A real problem being tackled by a tiny change in behaviour.

A oil free future? Article for the day 5 August

Well, internet problems have been sorted out finally. Hopefully they will stay that way. In the mean time lets get back to where we left off.

With ever increasing prices of Petrol and Diesel making the news in India this might be good news for some. However, I am more interested in the alternative future. I wrote about it previously on a post about Elon Musk. The last line seems to sum it up best

In its rise, oil has fueled many conflicts. It may continue to do so as it falls. For all that, most people will welcome the change.
