GPA scores and brain teasers are useless at predicting employee performance - Article for the day 10 July

Hiring the right talent for your company has always been difficult. There are reams of information about the "best practices" on hiring the "right people". However, Laszlo Bock, Google’s senior vice president for people operations has this to say


  • We found that brainteasers are a complete waste of time. They don’t predict anything. They serve primarily to make the interviewer feel smart
  • The ability to hire well is random
  • GPAs don’t predict anything about who is going to be a successful employee
